Welcome to my website. At this site, I hope to easily communicate with my patients, who have expressed a desire to continue the Physician-Patient relationship that we have developed over the last years, while I make a transition to a new practice site.

I am pleased and honored that so many of you have expressed the interest in continuing as my patients.

The reason I’ m leaving MaineHealth is complicated. I will not criticize the MaineHealth system, but I will just say that I feel there is a better way to practice medicine and a better way to treat your employees and medical staff.

After a lengthy process to find the right practice option, I will be joining the InterMed medical group practice located in Portland Maine.

This is a physician owned medical group founded on the goals of patient-focused practice, enhanced by integrated specialty services. 

A major difference between hospital- based practices and InterMed, is InterMed’s dedication to Primary Care as the center of all care. They are closely affiliated with both MaineHealth and Mercy Northern Lights health care to be able to provide specialty services and in- patient care.

 InterMed does not accept every insurance that MaineHealth does accept, and when making this decision I met with the Intermed leadership to try to be able to continue caring for as many of my patients as I could. 

As is described below, most insurances are accepted. They generally do not accept standard Medicare, but for a limited number of my patients they will make an exception. Those individuals with Advantage Medicare products and all commercial insurances (Blue Cross, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna etc) will be able to transition with me.
